Materials: Hard anodized aluminum drum and stem, self-tailing arm. Orbit Winches sizes 30QT and 40QT are equipped with the unique, patented Quick Trim self-trailer. The non-abrasive drum surface extends the service life of running rigging and allows smooth controlled easing, even under high loads. Quick Trim allows sailors to conveniently and safely ease the line without removing winch handle or taking out of self-trailer.

To remove the drum, pull back spring-loaded release latch, and a slight anti-clockwise rotation will allow self-tailing arm to be lifted from winch. Sprung self-tailing jaws to accept 6-10mm line. Full disassembly and reassembly can conveniently be performed without the need for any tools. From there, the drum can be removed from winch's stem.
